DexterIonKids system tracks movement

This unique system uses a PDA device to track down your "targets" who are wearing the watches that come with each purchase. The PDA will alert you the moment any of your "hostages" wander away from the pre-determined area. Each IonKids system is capable of monitoring up to 4 children simultaneously, so those in a larger family will have to either hire an extra babysitter to keep a lookout or pick up another IonKids.
Is the $199 price tag worth it? You must be a real busy parent to not know where your kids are even when at home. I suppose that those Hollywood stars who stay in their impossibly huge mansions need this, while regular Joes like you and I can just stick with a dog leash.

I have a nephew who is quite ... a runner.
Everytime we visit the home village he goes running up and down the mountain and it scares the living out of us, as he is just 5 yrs old.
we have had some scary times looking for him and I am trying to find a "gudget" that would help us locate him outdoors, and especially in a mountain forest enviroment.
The "IonKids system" looks like what we need yet as spesified is for small (uo to 200ft indoor areas) while we need somehting a bit more powerfull.
I will be most grateful for suggestions...
